Thank You Seniors!
To my seniors — thank you.
You’ve given so much to this program, and Monday Night is about celebrating what you’ve meant to Oviedo Golf. When I look back on this season — the highs, the lows, the breakthroughs, the frustrations, and everything in between — I keep coming back to the same thought: you were the steady heartbeat of this team.
You showed up early, stayed late, and carried yourselves with maturity that set the tone for everyone else. You modeled what it means to be coachable, to handle adversity, to compete with class, and to support each other even when things weren’t going perfectly.
This season wasn’t always easy. We started strong, we hit a wall in October, and we all had to regroup. But through all of that, you were the ones who kept us grounded. You kept the younger guys encouraged. You kept working. You kept believing. And because of that, we were still right there—competing with some of the best teams in the state.
I want you to know this:
Your leadership mattered.
Your attitudes mattered.
Your presence mattered.
And I’m grateful for every round, every team meal, every practice, every laugh, and every moment you poured into this team over your careers.
As you move on, remember this game has already taught you a lot more than how to hit a golf ball. It’s taught you how to respond when things don’t go your way. How to reset. How to compete with integrity. How to carry yourself when people are watching and when they aren’t. Those lessons will serve you long after high school golf is over.
I hope you walk out of here tonight knowing how proud I am of you — not just as golfers, but as people. You leave this program better than you found it, and that’s the highest compliment I can give.
Thank you for your commitment. Thank you for your trust. And thank you for allowing me to be part of your journey.
You will always be Oviedo Lions.
Coach
