The 7 Categories You Should Track
1. Driving Accuracy (FIR) - the goal is to hit 60% of the fairways. Here's a breakdown by handicap:
2. Driving Distance - This is important, BUT hitting the fairway is MORE important. Back off the distance a little to get more accuracy.
3. Greens in Regulation (GIR) - getting on the green makes it easier to score. Our goal is 60% GIR.
4. Scrambling (Up & Down Saves) - the better you get, the better you will be at scrambling. This is tracked from inside 30 yards. Our goal is 60%.
From Inside of 30 yards:
Par saves from 5 yards or less away from green
5. Putts per Round - This is of course one that you should know because it is how you score. If you get good at scrambling, it will helps your numbers.
6. Putts per Green in Regulation - if you hit the green in regulation, the expectation is to 2-putt and get a par. If you average is less than 2.0 then it means you are getting birdies along the way. We want you to get a 2.0 or better.
7. Three Putts - putting from the fringe does NOT count. This is only when you putt on the green surfacee itself. Our goal is to have less than 1 three putt per round.
